UPDATE - The CIGAR Network’s Annual Issue of Public Money & Management (PMM)

Dear PSAAR friends,

We would like to inform you about the CIGAR annual issue in PMM (for each of the next three years starting in 2021: PMM’s 41st volume). This CIGAR annual issue will not have a specific theme—the aim is to present relevant empirical and theoretical research in public sector accounting. The annual issue will showcase CIGAR’s valuable papers and, by doing so, increase their contribution to practice and to academia.

Journal of Public Budgeting, Accounting and Performance Management is planning an Extraordinary special issue under the title:

«Stretching the Public Purse: Budgetary Responses to a Global Pandemic»

The Extraordinary special issue will include short viewpoint papers (up to 3,000-4,000 words).

Dear PSAAR friends,

International Journal of Public Sector Management is planning a special issue under the title:

Public Sector Financial Management: Happy endings and Sucess Stories

The guest editors are Sandra Cohen, Francesca Manes Rossi, Isabel Brusca and Eugenio Caperchione.

This special issue aims at taking a positive stance in this sometimes grey landscape and discuss reforms, initiatives or innovations that have proved successful and operational. By synthesizing the lessons learnt, this special issue expects to provide a variety of experiences that reveal good combinations of tools, resources, governance and management to improve and streamline the public sector financial management.

PEFA 2020 CALL FOR RESEARCH PROPOSALS - The Interplay of Climate Change and Public Financial Management

Dear PSAAR friends,

We would like to draw your attention to the call by the Public Expenditure and Financial Accountability (PEFA) program (https://pefa.org/) for research proposals from interested public finance practitioners, scientists, researchers, and scholars to strengthen the understanding of the interplay of climate change and public financial management. 

The deadline for submission of completed applications is December 12, 2019.

A total price amount for the research competition is USD 150,000 which will be distributed between several winners.

Panel at the IRSPM 2020 Conference on Participatory Budgeting

The overarching theme of the conference is “Smart Public Service?”, in which the panel chaired by Ellen Haustein, Peter C. UPDATE: CIGAR Workshop 2020 and Phd Seminar

Dear PSAAR friends,

We would like to draw your attention to the CIGAR Workshop 2020 that will take place on June 16-17 2020 in the Campus Drammen of the University of South-Eastern Norway, in Norway. The theme of the CIGAR workshop is ‘The Quality of Public Sector Audit: Profession, Institutions and Standards’. A PhD Workshop will be held on June 15, 2020.

IMPORTANT UPDATE

Due to the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic situation, both CIGAR Workshop and IPSASB Research Forum are organised online, whilst doctoral students are offered feedback personally by members of the organising committee.
