Abstract
Connecting accounting information with practical examples and typical decisions that politicians face, by developing use cases that correspond to real-life scenarios, would make politicians more interested in accounting and its information content. The benefits of the accounting information would not be obscure, vague and disconnected from their decision-making routine. In this way, improved understandability will go hand in hand with increased relevance. New, innovative, and different syllabi for educating politicians need to be developed as they are a specific type of users.
